888Poker Ambassador, Chris Moorman, has been advertising the 888Poker brand in California this week. The greatest multi-table tournament (MTT) online poker player in the history of the game has been competing in the Commerce Poker Series at the Commerce Casino and he has just had a close but no trophy to dump into the bin because of luggage constraints moment.
Moorman – who already has $4.4m in live tournament earnings and a World Poker Tour (WPT) title on his resume – was competing in the $1,650 buy-in Commerce Poker Series Main Event. The UK-pro finished in second place for $85,510 – his highest score since finishing third in the €1,000 Estrellas Main Event at the European Poker Tour (EPT) Festival in Barcelona earlier in the year.
It takes one hell of a man, or woman, to topple a man of Chris Moorman’s quality, and he came in the shape of defending champion Scott Stewart. In September, the Californian resident defeated 408 entrants to capture the $105,245 first prize and now has another $97,800 plus a $10,000 LAPC Main Event seat in his locker after topping a 345 competitor field, defending his trophy in the process.
