It was almost inevitable that online poker’s all-time tournament money winner Chris Moorman would snag a title in the 888 Super XL festival, and sure as night turns to day the Englishman and 888 ambassador took down the R&A for a sweet $16,000 payday.
The 31-year old economics graduate turned poker pro kept his fans well-updated throughout the course of the huge event, tweeting…

…with most of the 667 field already destroyed, but not before 652 re-buys and 436 add-ons had swollen the prize-pool to a hefty $87,750 of which $16,000 was destined for top spot. In a spot of mirrored déjà vu, Moorman watched on as ‘mindcrushers’ bust out, a role reversal from the opening event of the 12-day 888< online shindig when it was the Canadian who triumphed after Moorman crashed out in 9th. Heads-up was a lengthy but riveting affair, the man himself tweeting... https://twitter.com/Moorman1/status/824820968958918656 With $millions to his name already from his online mastery the scoop will barely register on his bank balance, but the sweet success of victory - particularly on ‘home soil’ at 888 – has to feel good. Moorman's 2nd book, a much-anticipated tome sub-headed as ‘The inside story of the most successful online poker player of all time’, is due out this summer and he has just been featured on the cover of Bluff Poker and LivePoker magazines.
His R&A success will doubtless be considered a good warm-up for the Super XL $1050 Main Event due to kick off this Sunday, sure to be a massive draw and smash the guarantees as almost every other event in the 64 tournament series has done so far!
Moorman will be joined by his fellow 888 Ambassadors Dominik Nitsche, Sofie Lovgren and Natalie Hof among others for a shot at glory and we’ll be bringing you all the best of the action here on PokerTube.
