For the next 13 days 888poker is hosting their latest installment of the Super XL Series but this one is easily the biggest and best yet – just ask online poker’s all-time leader in tournament earnings, Chris Moorman.
“I’m excited that 888poker is pumping up the guarantees and putting more money into online poker,” said Moorman, an 888poker Ambassador. “It’s awesome to have multiple series throughout the year that gets everyone on the virtual felts for a couple of weeks. The Super XL Series is at the top of my list of must-play poker events.”
With a total of $5,000,000 in guaranteed prize pools, this edition of the Super XL Series includes Main, Mini and Turbo versions of each event. The 63 events begin Thursday evening with the $109 buy-in $100,000 guaranteed Opening Event and the $12 buy-in $15,000 guaranteed Mini Opening event at 7 pm GMT. The Turbo Opening Event, with a $55 buy-in and $20,000 guaranteed, begins at 9 pm GMT.
The Super XL Series has grown by leaps and bounds over the last five years. The event debuted in November 2012 with just $2,000,000 in total guarantees – $500,000 of that coming from the Main Event.

Every online poker player dreams of hitting a big Sunday score and there’s a full schedule of events on the first Sunday of the series that make that possible. The Super XL Mega Deep has a $215 buy-in and $200,000 guaranteed while the Super XL Tune Up has a $160 buy-in and $300,000 guaranteed, but the real highlight of the day is the $600 buy-in Whale with a $250,000 guarantee.
There is also a $160 buy-in Mega Satellite for the Main Event at 7:35 GMT.
The most prestigious event on the schedule is the $1,050 buy-in Main Event on Sunday, January 29. With a $1.5 million guarantee there isn’t a better opportunity for players to make a name for themselves in the online poker world. Moorman already has his sights set on the title though.
“I’m most excited about the Main Event,” said Moorman. “It has a great structure and a wide range of different styles of players, which I enjoy. It’s also great to have the chance of winning a lot of money for a relatively small buy-in.”
The Mini Main Event has a $160 buy-in with $200,000 guaranteed and there is a $ buy-in Micro Main Event with $15,000 guaranteed.
The biggest buy-in event on the schedule is a $2,100 High Roller on Tuesday, January 24. Those willing to risk the big buy-in though are rewarded with a huge $350,000 guarantee. There’s also the Mini High Roller, a $215 buy-in with $150,000 guaranteed, and the Turbo High Roller, a $160 buy-in with $50,000 guaranteed.
